This was my first day volunteering at the Hackney 50+ Drop-in clinic, and it was brilliant fun – I helped Josh publish his delicious chicken pilaff recipe and did a bit of online shopping with Stan.

I spent this morning at Whitmore community centre volunteering.
I helped Hyacinth, Catherine and Megan with their blogs.
Hyacinth checked her emails and we sent a get well soon email to Sallie

I popped in to help out for a couple of hours.
I helped Catherine and Hyacinth upload a new blog post. They included some nice photos on their posts.

Whitmore Community Centre has upgraded the Internet connection. It’s faster and supports more devices. Thirty people using it, no problems that we noticed, but plenty of life-affirming personal successes.

The 50+ drop-in has expanded into the ICT Room at Whitmore Community Centre. The desktop computers are new — installed yesterday — and an Internet service upgrade will follow soon. So the project is using two spaces at WCC. Both were full today. Read more “What we did – 29 November 2017”
Well, I experienced my first volunteering day at the Hackney 50+ Drop-in clinic … what a fab day!

I really enjoyed a morning of helping with blogging, emailing and web surfing at the drop in.
We solved some IT issues together and looked at Christmas things online :).

Today i visited the IT drop in centre to help users with some IT skills to use a laptop and find their way around the internet.

We thought the session would be quieter than usual because a clashing event had drawn away some of our regulars. But we were almost overwhelmed by the number of people who did turn up. I volunteered at the Hackney 50+ IT Drop-In today. It was good to see how popular it is, with the room full of people using computers and socialising. I helped a lady named Catherine to write posts on the blog and to check and answer her emails. Read more “My Time As A Helper”
Having started my day with a hearty breakfast I made from home to the Whitmore Community Centre.
Having been welcomed by Sally and introduced to Rick upon my arrival I was introduced to Hyacinth whom I am helping to write her blog.
